Additional Facts
Who is a good candidate for Facial Implants?
Patients who have realistic expectations and desire improvement of facial projection in different areas and want a permanant (yet easily reversible) implants instead of getting dermal fillers repeatedly.
What are Facial Implants contraindications?
We recommend avoiding the procedure in severe or uncontrolled systemic diseases, connective tissue disease, malignancy, unrealistic expectations, local skin pathology and pregnancy.
Note: A contraindication is a condition or factor that serves as a reason to withhold a certain medical treatment due to the harm that it would cause the patient.
How is this procedure performed?
The procedure is done under local anesthesia with monitored IV sedation. The incision for the temple implants is hidden in the scalp, while cheek, chin and mandibular implants are performed using an incision hidden inside the mouth. A pocket was then created and a soft anatomical silicone implant is placed then the small incision is closed.
How long does the effect last?
This is a permanent, yet easily, reversible/removable implant.
What should I expect during recovery?
The most common side effects are mild swelling and bruising which usually resolve in 1-2 weeks, some numbness is also expected during recovery.
Where is the scar?
There is no visible scar since the incisions are small and hidden inside the oral cavity. The temple implant incision is hidden in the scalp.
