PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is plasma separated from patient’s own blood. This plasma is rich in platelets and growth factors. PRP injections are usually combined with microneedling stimulating collagen production and cause improvement in sun damaged areas, wrinkles and pores.

What are PRP Facial Rejuvenation contraindications?
PRP injections are safe. Since Patients are using their own blood, no rejection is possible.
The most common side effects are mild swelling and bruising which usually resolve in a few days.
We recommend avoiding the procedure in severe or uncontrolled systemic diseases, connective tissue disease, malignancy, unrealistic expectations, local skin pathology and pregnancy.
Note: A contraindication is a condition or factor that serves as a reason to withhold a certain medical treatment due to the harm that it would cause the patient.
How is this procedure performed?
The procedure starts with a blood draw from the patient. This blood is placed in centrifuge that spins the blood at high speed separating the plasma from the cells. The face is then cleaned, and topical anesthetic is applied. PRP is then applied to the skin using microneedling technique.
We recommend PRP Treatments every month for 3 months then every 3-6 months as needed.
How long does the effect last?
The effect usually shows over the course of 3 treatments and might last for a year.
What should I expect during recovery?
There is minimal to no downtime after this procedure. Mild swelling and bruising can be expected. Patient are encouraged to avoid excessive sun exposure, use sun block products and hydrating moisturizers for 1 week after the procedure.
Where is the scar?
Since this procedure is done with microneedling technique, there are no incisions or scars.
