Different methods are implemented for hair restoration. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is plasma separated from patient’s own blood. This plasma is rich in platelets and growth factors. The growth factors stimulate the hair follicles leading to growth of new hair.

Who is a good candidate for Hair Restoration?
Patients with hair thinning or early hair loss tend to respond better to PRP treatment.What are Hair Restoration contraindications?
- PRP injections are safe. Since Patients are using their own blood, no rejection is possible.
- The most common side effects are mild swelling and bruising which usually resolve in a few days.
- We recommend avoiding the procedure in severe or uncontrolled systemic diseases, connective tissue disease, malignancy, unrealistic expectations, local skin pathology and pregnancy.
Note: A contraindication is a condition or factor that serves as a reason to withhold a certain medical treatment due to the harm that it would cause the patient.
How is this procedure performed?
- The procedure starts with a blood draw from the patient. This blood is placed in centrifuge that spins the blood at high speed separating the plasma from the cells. The scalp is then cleaned, and topical anesthetic is applied. PRP is then injected into the skin.
- We recommend PRP Treatments every month for 3 months then every 3-6 months as needed.
How long does the effect last?
- Hair thinning is an ongoing aging process. Therefore, the treatment needs to be maintained on long term basis.

What should I expect during recovery?
There is minimal to no downtime after this procedure. Mild swelling and bruising can be expected.
Where is the scar?
Since this procedure is done through injections using small needles, there are no incisions or scars.
